Looking to Buy Canon Camera Lenses?

It can get confusing and overwhelming as there is a huge number of Canon camera lenses available and a near infinite number of Canon camera lens combinations. Relax! Rest assured you are certainly not the only one that is confused. The good news is that the right lens is out there for you.

Ask yourself a few questions to help you determine which Canon camera lenses are right for you,  Depending on the type of photography you will be doing and the shots you wish to achieve. How much you would like to spend on your Canon camera lenses? How much is the right lens worth to you? How much are you willing to spend to capture perfect images of your kids? In what weather conditions do you expect to use the lens? How much are you going to make using the lens as a professional? What will you  lose if your lens does not perform up to expectations?

Consider the focal length you will use most, selecting a wide angle lens for landscape and indoor photography. A standard lens with  35mm to 85mm focal length is ideal for portraits while telephoto and super-telephoto are perfect for action and sports shots as well as wildlife photography. Zoom lenses offer flexibility over a range of focal lengths and are especially good when you are starting out. Finally consider the aperture you require, a lens with a larger maximum aperture will let more light in and therefore will take better pictures indoors or in low light situations.

Canon Camera Lenses Customer Reviews

Reading reviews is a great way to learn more about the Canon camera lenses you are considering from someone who has been using them and can give a fair review of the the pro's and con's.

Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Camera Lens - I bought this lens for my wife as she is just getting started in her new photography hobby. She has saidthat this lens is a fantastic addition to her limited kit. It does exactly what she expected it to and it has given her a new dimension to her hobby.

Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS Telephoto Zoom Lens - An excellent lens. I used it at my grandson's T-Ball game and I was able to fill the frame for close up shots when he was in bat or in the field. It was also great for our vacation photograhs. I have used both the auto focus and the manual focus. I use this lens on my Canon Rebel XSi. Everyone comments on the sharpness and color clarity of my photos with this combination.

Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Standard Zoom LensAn excellent walkabout lens. I bought this lens four years ago and have shot around 6,000 photos with it .The utofocus is very fast and quiet. Optics are sharp throughout the focusing range. If you want a compact lens that will take great pictures in a wide range of settings, this is probably the best lens you could get for a Canon camera. If you're a pro, you've probably got a backpack full of lenses and you're not reading this anyway!

Canon Camera Digital Lenses

For millions of people, photography is much more than a means to capture life moments and secure memories; it's a passion. These photographers or artists know that you just cannot get the quality required with a compact camera and so choose a quality digital SLR camera and more importantly, the lenses to suit. Not only are the modern digital SLR cameras able to reproduce photographs of extreme quality and clarity, they are becoming much more user-friendly due in part to the wide variety of Canon Camera Lenses now available.

Take some time to work out what characteristics it is that you are after before you invest in a new digital lens for your camera.
To begin with you will need a primary or everyday lens and this will usually be supplied with your camera. The primary digital camera lenses are non-specialist everyday lenses that you would use most of the time when you don't require zoom, wide angle, macro or a high shutter speed. If you like, your primary lens is the foundation of your camera set-up. It is normal that you would use your primary for most everyday shots including portraits and stills so it is highly recommended that you invest in quality Canon Camera Lenses from the beginning. With this in mind, make sure you check out all your options first before making a decision.

Now you have your primary sorted, the next item on your Canon Camera Lenses shopping list might well be a zoom lens. Your choice of zoom lens will be governed by the type of photograph you are shooting. There is a plethora of different types which enable you to zoom in over relatively short or extremely long distances. Keep in mind, however, that the larger the zoom, the higher the risk of reduced quality in terms of sharpness and focus. Because of this, many people choose a compact or short range zoom lens as a primary zoom lens and invest in a second Canon Camera Lenses digital zoom lens that has a greater zoom length for real close up shots. At least one quality zoom lens is a must for any serious photographer, you will find that most professionals have many more. Don't just rush out and buy the biggest zoom lens you can afford, research your camera digital lenses and pick the one that that suits your needs the best. There is nothing worse than capturing that close up only to find it is all blurred.

Last but not least on your list of required Canon Camera Lenses should be the wide angle lens. A wide angle lens is useful when you have a fairly wide subject but not the distance to shoot it.Typically this is the lens you would use when taking panoramic or scenic photographs where you want to capture as broad an expanse as possible. Wide-angle lenses are definitely cool, but are only used for very specific shots.

In a nutshell, with all three Canon Camera Lenses discussed, in your portfolio, you should be able to produce professional quality photos in almost any genre you tackle. Do your research and spend your money wisely because the variety and quality of lenses can be overwhelming. But high quality photographs definitely await.
